Why Choose Soy Wax?

Are soy wax candles the latest additions to the "greener alternative" hype train which we should pay cose attention to? We believe so, and we'll give you 4 reasons why soy wax is better than the classic parrafin wax candles.

Soybeans are renewable.

Since soybeans are grown extensively, soy wax is readily available and renewable. Unlike the conventional paraffin wax which is made from petroleum, thus non-renewable, and unlike other renewable materials like beeswax which can be very expensive, soy is a consistent and viable alternative for those who prefer candles made from natural, renewable sources.

Soy wax candles offer greater value

Soy wax burns more slowly and evenly than paraffin wax, so candles will last longer. In other words, even though you'll be paying extra for soy, the fact that your candles burn longer helps to offset the extra expense, resulting in a longer-lasting, soothing aromatheraphy experience.

Soy wax are easier to clean up

Soy wax has a lower melting point than paraffin wax, with the wax turning softer at lower temperatures. If you find yourself with a soy wax spill, it can be cleaned up with soap and hot water rather than harsh chemicals. For candle makers, this is also a handy feature since equipment can be cleaned in the sink under hot running water, or even in the dishwasher.

Soy wax results in clean burning

Candles made from soy wax will give you a cleaner burn since they produce much less smoke than candles made from paraffin. This means that anyone sensitive to candle smoke will have a much easier time with soy wax, and the air will be cleaner and safer for everyone, especially young children and the elderly. There is also less risk of smoke damage to nearby furniture, walls, or ceilings.
